GLOBAL FOOTPRINT Heritage Open Day EVENTS

7-9 Burns Street, Northampton, NN1 3QE

Fri 7th & Sat 8th September 2012

10am – 3.30pm

Located in Northampton’s new boot and shoe quarter, 7-9 Burns Street was for decades a thriving local employer and producer of shoes for the world.  It is a hub of learning and creativity once more with machine rooms becoming artist studios.

On FRIDAY we are recording people’s memories and connections to the boot and shoe trade in the area through short filmed interviews.  To take part please contact jimgrevatte@btinternet.com / 07960080304

On SATURDAY there will be drop in arts activities including Dominic Wilcox’s FIELD and the launch of Steve Messam’s  augmented reality artwork BROGUED, QR code treasure hunt and walking tours at 11am and 2pm.

Refreshments and WC available, however there is no wheelchair access to the building and several events take place on the 2nd floor.

N.B. For visitors to experience BROGUED please download the free Layar app.
